New South Wales Assistant Agent Course​

Course Overview

Our online Assistant Agent Course (Certificate of Registration) is the entry-level real estate requirement in New South Wales. It comprises five units of competency which are recognised by the New South Wales Licencing Authority (New South Wales Fair Trading).

Upon successful completion of this online course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment. This will not only enable you to apply for registration with NSW Fair Trading but will also equip you with the skills and knowledge to be work-ready.

The course consists of the five core units of competency from the qualification CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate.

CPPREP4003Access and interpret legislation in real estate
Cluster: Marketing in Real Estate

CPPREP4102*Market property
Individual Unit
CPPREP4005Prepare to work with real estate trust accounts

* CPPREP4102 is not required for licensing. You will be assessed against all clusters in the course and upon completion will receive an additional unit of competency.

Target Audience

This course provides the educational qualification required to work as a real estate salesperson, property manager, sales associate or agency administration staff in a client-facing role. The course gives students an introduction to both sales and property management roles and responsibilities required for working in the real estate industry.

Enrolment Requirements

Your must satisfy the following enrolment requirements to enrol in this course:

  1. Hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  2. Have Year 10 or above competency in English language and numeracy
  3. Meet the technology requirements
  4. Be over the age of 18 years.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Harcourts Real Estate Training Centre offers RPL to all students. RPL is an assessment process that recognises your current skill and knowledge gained from previous education and training and work and life experience. If you believe you have any of the skill or knowledge covered in this course, you should contact our Student Experience Team on 1300 024 401.

The course is delivered and assessed online. Students have six months to complete their course.

Online Student Portal

Training and assessment are undertaken by logging onto our online Student Portal. The Student Portal is where all your learning materials, resources, discussion forums, support and assessments are located. Everything you need to complete your course is in the Student Portal. All materials and support are included in the cost of the course.

Assessment

The assessments for this course are varied and include:

  • Multiple choice Quiz
  • Questions (Short and extended answer questions)
  • Online case studies (Workplace situation activities)

Marking Time-frames

Harcourts Real Estate Training Centre aims to provide assessment results as soon as possible. All assessments will be marked and results available to students within five business days after submission. If marking time-frames are likely to exceed this time (due to peak demand, holiday periods, unforeseeable circumstances etc.), affected students will be advised by email with an estimated time for marking of their assessment.

Statement of Attainment

When students successfully complete all assessments and requirements for each unit in their course they will be issued with a Statement of Attainment listing each completed unit. A copy of this document is required by NSWFT when you apply for registration.

You can also continue your studies and complete the full Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice in designated clusters or enrolling in the remaining 13 units over a 4-year period to become a fully Licenced Real Estate Agent (Class 2 real Estate agent).

Please note: If you fail to obtain the Class 2 licence within this time, your registration will lapse, and you will be unable to work as an Assistant Agent for a period of 12 months.
