How to verify property ownership?

by Lawrence on May 9, 2012

How do we verify the ownership of the property? We can do it a few ways. First we can use IRAS website E-valuation list to check. Enter the property details and you will be able to locate who the owner is.

Another method is to use HDB website. Ask your owner to log in into the HDB infoWEB  to check their outstanding loan and to check whether if they are the owners. Verify by cross check their NRIC. You may also use their latest property tax statement or service and conservancy booklet or receipt to check. These items bares only the owner’s name.

Do not use telephone bills or SP Services bill to check for ownership, for all you know, they may be occupiers or tenants posing as owners.
